Play Surfaces

We feel that surfacing and landscaping are underrated.

Surfacing and landscaping are an integral part of a whole playground design. The right surfacing choice can extend the useable space of your playground, but also encourage and contribute towards imaginative and creative play.

Boulder streams, grassy mounds, cobble stone pathways leading to hidden fountains. DBDplay can create stimulating and inclusive landscapes in the most unlikely of outdoor spaces.

Artificial Grass

Artificial grass offers an all year round solution to creating a natural looking space that is not only low maintenance, but also child and pet friendly. It improves aesthetics and its versatility means it can brighten up areas that natural grass couldn't. The DBDplay team supply and install the most true-to-life artificial grass available.

Wet Pour

A great hard wearing impact absorbing safety surface.  Ideally suited to play areas with a critical fall height requirement.

One of the main attractions of wet pour is that it’s available in a variety of colours and can be installed to almost any design.

Playground Markings

Playground markings are a cost effective way of creating new activity areas with minimal installation time. They also aid learning through play with numeracy and literacy line marking options.

A cost effective natural looking surface, as used in many National Trust properties for paths through woodland. This surface is excellent for providing an all weather path solution around fields, linking classrooms and playgrounds.

Shredded Rubber

Ideal surface for difficult ground cover, follows the contour of the ground, can be applied onto soil with membrane beneath.

A special blend of recycled rubber shreds, colour coated – combined with a binder on site and laid to provide a more natural looking and cost effective option than some synthetic and rubber surfaces.

Resin Bonded Gravel

Excellent surface, hard wearing, aesthetically pleasing and practical for many environments especially where wheel chair access is required.
